需要那些愉悅的產物 來提醒我們快樂

派對的邀請卡上沒有邀請悲傷

那些閃閃發光的旋轉彩燈

讓誰的影子留在心上成了靜物

青春在夜晚又消逝了一點

音樂還在播放

所有故事的開始

是在派對結束之後

 

過往的回憶與情緒像是一些碎屑,在拼湊的過程中有了雛形,有時候文字或是畫面也很難去裝載我想要表達的,盡可能的去闡述與捕捉,用我的方式去再現每一個我想留住的故事,並透過創作以助於在汙濁黏膩的人生,提起腳跟踏出下一步,過程中不斷反思個人的生命歷程,細細咀嚼並放大每一種感受,歡愉的色彩都是一種包裝,包裝那些最苦澀的回憶,以自我的情感作為出發點,尋找一種自我與外界溝通的方式,在創作的過程中,習慣將自身的形象移情至畫面中的角色裡,去描述一段存在於現實與非現實之間,各種感受的片段,藉由創作者個人情感投射的畫面,來引起觀者的共鳴與個人經驗的聯想,也在這之中,達到自我療癒之功效。

Misfortune is usually not welcomed to the party undisguised.

The disco party lamp is there to turn

A colourful display of silhouette into still life.

Little by little innocence fades into the dark night.

The music continues and

Our stories only begin

When the party is over.’

 

Previous memories and emotions are like those oddly shaped jigsaw pieces that commence to take the shape of a recognizable picture when assembled together. The artist, Chao Hsuan, sometimes finds it is hard to find the appropriate vocabulary or image to convey her ideas with precision; however, she will try as far as she could to capture them with the means she is familiar with in her works and depict those storylines she would like to keep in the “shared folder.” Chao Hsuan also employs art works to assist her to pave the way for the next step in an environment which she describes as drenched and polluted. The creation process is a constant reflection of life that she digests carefully, after which each experience is magnified and the toughest memory of all is always depicted with bright and joyful colours.

 

In the show, the artist uses her emotion in the works as the starting point to look for means to communicate with the outside world. Chao Hsuan is afraid of neither using her own image in the art works she creates nor sharing pieces of herself of the real and surreal world with her audience. Her intention is to elicit the viewer’s resonance with her personal experience and motivate self-healing with her audience as well as herself.
