台北‧巴黎記憶軸】 姜麗華 個展

以藝術重新賦予新的生命

法國思想家吉勒‧德勒茲指出:「影像不存在當刻,存在當刻的是影像所『呈現』的東西,而非影像本身。」而我所拍攝的影像,它們不僅紀錄我在台北生活或巴黎留學期間難忘的記憶,也顯現我對現實世界的時間感知。透過這些影像,我們看到它們所呈現特有的時間性——既不是單純的線性、亦非是循環的週期—而是如擺盪的鐘擺,以代表「時間」不捨晝夜地流逝的事實,即使鐘擺暫時停止擺盪(象徵被攝製的影像),也無法改變這個事實。我們透過這些影像看到「當刻」呈現為實際影像與虛擬影像並存的雙重特性,換言之,「當刻」以及「當刻」的「過去」並存。而這些影像中的「過去」卻比「當刻」更恆定、更為真實,因為「當刻」不斷地流逝。影像凝結「當刻」,藝術重新賦予「當刻」新的生命,重新尋回失去的「時間」。一如馬塞爾˙普魯斯特曾說:「藝術品是重新尋回失去的『時間』唯一的方式,使我的內在產生出某種新的體認」。未來,我將持續拍攝巴黎這些曾經的「過去」,試著追憶失去的「時間」,透過影像書寫有關台北與巴黎的記憶拼圖,宛如鐘擺般無形地刻劃兩地之間的記憶軸,形成不間斷的異鄉愁。文/姜麗華

“Feminine Image: Memory Axis”A photo exhibition by Li-Hua Chiang

The photographs in this exhibition capture not only the artist’s memory of the life in Taipei or as a student in Paris, but also her perception of time in the real world. We may apprehend the particular temporality through these images that is neither merely linear nor periodical, but as pendulum motion, representing our loss of time, a fact we cannot change even if the pendulum would stop swinging temporarily. Through these images, we can observe that the “moment” presents the dual characteristics of the actual image and the co-existing virtual image, in other words, the “moment” and its “past” moment respectively. The “past” of the image becomes even more enduring and earthy when the “moment” continues to slip through our fingers.

The artist endeavours to rediscover the “lost” time in the “moment” that is being condensed through photography and renders the “moment” alive once more as artworks that meet our eyes in the show. She will devote herself to recall the lost time by capturing the “past” moment of Paris and piece the memories together, like a pendulum inscribing the memory axis between Taipei and Paris, resulting an everlasting nostalgia.
